0723 SANCTIFICATION, The Life Side=성화, 생명편

 

SANCTIFICATION

“Of Him are ye in Christ Jesus, who of God is made unto us

                               . . . sanctification.”

1 Corinthians 1:30

 

The Life Side. The mystery of sanctification is that the perfections of Jesus Christ are imparted to me, not gradually, but instantly when by faith I enter into the realization that Jesus Christ is made unto me sanctification. Sanctification does not mean anything less than the holiness of Jesus being made mine manifestly.

The one marvelous secret of a holy life lies not in imitating Jesus, but in letting the perfections of Jesus manifest themselves in my mortal flesh. Sanctification is “Christ in you.” It is His wonderful life that is imparted by faith as a sovereign gift of God’s grace. Am I willing for God to make sanctification as real in me as it is in His word?

Sanctification means the impartation of the holy qualities of Jesus Christ. It is His patience, His love, His holiness, His faith, His purity, His godliness, that is manifested in and through every sanctified soul. Sanctification is not drawing from Jesus the power to be holy; it is drawing from Jesus the holiness that was manifested in Him, and He manifests it in me. Sanctification is an impartation, not an imitation. Imitation is on a different line. In Jesus Christ is the perfection of everything, and the mystery of sanctification is that all the perfections of Jesus are at my disposal, and slowly and surely I begin to live a life of ineffable order and sanity and holiness: “Kept by the power of God.”

 

      But surely, Lord, I do not need more verification of the truth of

Thy words concerning the human heart; if it be Thy will, I do not

want to know any more along that line; I want to know more of

the great and gracious Reality of Thy Redemption.

성화

“너희는 하나님으로부터 나서 그리스도 예수 안에 있고 예수는 하나님으로부터 나와서 우리에게

                    지혜와 의로움과 거룩함과 구원함이 되셨으니.”

고린도전서 1:30

 

생명편. 성화의 기적은 예수 그리스도의 거룩한 성품이 내 안에 형성된다는 것을 내가 믿음을 통해 깨달을 때 점진적으로가 아니고 즉시 예수 그리스도의 각종 완전성이 나에게 주어진다는 사실입니다. 성화는 분명하게 나의 것으로 형성되고 있는 예수님의 거룩함 보다 부족한 어떤 것을 의미하는 것이 아닙니다.

거룩한 생명의 놀라운 비밀 하나는 예수님을 모방하는 데 있지 않고 죽을 수밖에 없는 나의 육신 가운데 예수님의 각종 완전성이 나타나도록 하는데 있습니다. 성화는 “너희 안에 계신 그리스도” 입니다. 성화는 하나님의 주권적 은혜의 선물로서 믿음을 통해 주어지는 주님의 경탄할만한 생명입니다. 기록된 주님의 말씀에 따라 하나님께서 내 안에 성화가 진정으로 실현되도록 하시는 것을 내가 기꺼이 받아들이고 있습니까?

성화는 예수 그리스도의 거룩한 성품들을 부여하는 것을 의미합니다. 성화는 성화된 모든 영혼 안에서 그리고 성화된 그 영혼들을 통해 나타나는 주님의 인내, 주님의 사랑, 주님의 거룩함, 주님의 믿음, 주님의 순결, 주님의 신성을 말합니다. 성화는 거룩해지는 능력을 예수님으로부터 끌어내는 것이 아닙니다. 주님 안에 나타났던 거룩함을 예수님으로부터 성화가 끌어내고 있는 중입니다. 그리하여 거룩한 주님의 각종 성품의 요소들을 주님께서 내 안에서 분명하게 보여주십니다. 성화는 은혜의 선물로 주시는 것이지 모방하는 것이 아닙니다. 모방은 차원이 다른 것입니다. 예수 그리스도 안에서 모든 것의 완전성과 성화의 기적은 예수님의 완전성 모두가 내 마음대로 쓸 수 있으며 천천히 그리고 확실하게 내가 말로 표현할 수 없는 질서와 분별과 “하나님의 능력에 의해 유지되는” 거룩함의 삶을 살아가기 시작합니다.

 

그러나 주님, 인간의 마음에 관한 주님 말씀에 대한 진리의

검증이 제게 더 이상 필요하지 않다는 것이 확실합니다. 그것이

주님의 뜻이라면 그 방면에 대해서 그 이상 더 알고 싶지

않습니다. 제가 더 알고 싶어하는 것은 주님의 구속에 관한

위대하고 은혜로운 실체에 대해서 입니다.
