상상력(想像力) 對 영감(靈感)       

“뱀이 그 간계로 하와를 미혹한 것 같이 너희 마음이 그리스도를 향하는 진실함과

                 깨끗함에서 떠나 부패할까 두려워하노라."

                                                                                                                         (고후 11:3)

 

그 때에 예수께서 대답하여 이르시되 천지의 주재이신 아버지여 이것을 지혜롭고 슬기 있는 자들에게는 숨기시고 어린 아이들에게는 나타내심을 감사하나이다 (마 11:25)

 

천진난만(simplicity)은 사물을 분명하게 보는 비결입니다. 성도는 한 동안 어떤 상황을 명료하게 생각하지 못합니다. 그러나 성도는 아무 어려움이 없이 사물을 명료하게 봐야만 합니다. 당신이 영적 혼동을 명료하게 생각할 수는 없습니다, 당신은 영적 혼동에 분명하게 순종해야 합니다. 지적인 문제들에 있어서는 당신이 논리적으로 생각해 낼 수 있을 것이지만, 영적인 문제들에 있어서는 혼란에 빠질 것입니다. 만일 하나님께서 당신에게 강권하시는 일이 있다면 반드시 그 문제는 순종하시고 그 상황과 관련한 당신의 모든 상상력을 사로 잡아서 그리스도께 복종케 하셔야 합니다. 그러면 모든 것이 대낮처럼 분명하게 보이게 될 것입니다. 그 후에 논리적인 이해가 따라오게 됩니다. 그럼에도 우리는 논리적인 이해의 선상에서 보지 않고 어린 아이들처럼 봅니다. 그 이유는 우리가 지혜롭고 슬기롭게 되고자 할 때 우리는 아무것도 보지 못하기 때문입니다 (마 11:25). 

우리의 삶 가운데서 아무리 작은 것이라도 성령의 지배에서 벗어나는 것을 허락할 경우 그것은 영적 혼돈을 일으키는 충분한 원인이 됩니다. 그리고 영적 혼돈은 우리가 아무리 많이 생각해도 결코 명료해지지 않습니다. 영적 혼란은 오직 순종에 의해서만 해결됩니다. 우리가 순종하는 즉시 우리는 식별하게 됩니다. 우리가 영적 혼돈에 빠지게 될 때 그 이유가 우리 마음의 어떤 기질 안에 있음을 알기 때문에 우리는 이것으로 인해 굴욕감을 갖게 되는 것입니다. 통찰력의 자연적인 능력을 성령님께 전적으로 의지할 때 그것이 하나님의 뜻을 깨닫는 능력이 되고, 전 생애가 천진난만(simplicity) 가운데 유지되는 것입니다.

 

오, 제 몸 전체, 혼 그리고 영이 주님께 온전히 열중하게 되기를 간구합니다. 그러나 어두움의 세계에 속하여 숨겨진 많은 것들이 아직도 도사리고 있습니다. 이 모든 것들은 오히려 은혜가 되는 얼마나 굴욕적인 것들인지요.

IMAGINATION V. INSPIRATION

“The simplicity that is in Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:3)

 

Simplicity is the secret of seeing things clearly. A saint does not think clearly for a while, but a saint ought to see clearly without any difficulty. You cannot think a spiritual muddle clear, you have to obey it clear. In intellectual matters you can think things out, but in spiritual matters you will think yourself into cotton wool. If there is something upon which God has put His pressure, obey in that matter, bring your imagination into captivity to the obedience of Christ with regard to it and everything will become as clear as daylight. The reasoning capacity comes afterwards, but we never see along that line, we see like children; when we try to be wise we see nothing (Matthew 11:25).

The tiniest thing we allow in our lives that is not under the control of the Holy Spirit is quite sufficient to account for spiritual muddle, and all the thinking we like to spend on it will never make it clear. Spiritual muddle is only made plain by obedience. Immediately we obey, we discern. This is humiliating, because when we are muddled we know the reason is in the temper of our mind. When the natural power of vision is devoted to the Holy Spirit, it becomes the power of perceiving God’s will and the whole life is kept in simplicity.

 

Oh, how I long to be all taken up by Thee, all my body, soul, and spirit enthused by Thee; so many lurking things of the darkness still remain. What a gracious humiliation these things are.
