VISION BY PERSONAL CHARACTER

“Come up hither, and I will shew thee things.”

Revelation 4:1

An elevated mood can only come out of an elevated habit of personal character. If in the externals of your life you live up to the highest you know, God will continually say—“Friend, go up higher.” The golden rule in temptation is—“Go higher.”When you get higher up, you face other temptations and characteristics. Satan uses the strategy of elevation in temptation, and God does the same, but the effect is different. When the devil puts you into an elevated place, he makes you screw your idea of holiness beyond what flesh and blood could ever bear. It is a spiritual acrobatic performance, you are just poised and dare not move; but when God elevates you by His grace into the heavenly places, instead of finding a pinnacle to cling to, you find a great table-land where it is easy to move.

Compare this week in your spiritual history with the same week last year and see how God has called you up higher. We have all been brought to see from a higher standpoint. Never let God give you one point of truth which you do not instantly live up to. Always work it out, keep in the light of it.

Growth in grace is measured not by the fact that you have not gone back, but that you have an insight into where you are spiritually; you have heard God say “come up higher,” not to you personally, but to the insight of your character.

“Shall I hide from Abraham that thing which I do?” God has to hide from us what He does until by personal character we get to the place where He can reveal it.

 

   O Lord, give me the disposition of mind that delights in Thee.

Cleanse me from all fog and flurry and fuss, that clear-eyed I may

see Thy way this day.

인격적 품성을 통한 비전

“이리로 올라오라 이 후에 마땅히 일어날 일들을 내가 네게 보이리라.”

요한계시록 4:1

 

승화된 기분은 인격적 품성의 승화된 습관으로부터만 나타날 수 있습니다. 만일 당신 삶의 외면적인 영역에서 당신이 아는 최고 수준에 맞게 살고 있다면 “친구여, 더 높이 올라가라.”고 하나님께서 계속 말씀하실 것입니다. 더 높이 올라가라는 것이 유혹의 황금률입니다. 당신이 더 높은 경지에 도달할 때 당신은 다른 유혹들과 특징들을 만나게 됩니다. 사탄은 유혹을 함에 있어서 승화의 전략을 사용합니다. 그런데 하나님께서도 동일한 전략을 사용하십니다. 그러나 그 효과는 서로 다릅니다. 사탄이 당신을 승화된 장소에 들이밀 때 사탄은 거룩함에 대한 당신의 생각을 맛이 간 상태로 만들어 육신이 감당할 수 있는 한계를 초월하도록 합니다. 그것은 영적인 곡예 공연으로서 당신이 멈추는 순간 감히 움직일 엄두를 내지 못합니다. 그러나 하나님께서 주님의 은총을 통해 당신을 하늘에 있는 장소로 승화시키시면 매달려야 할 첨탑을 발견하는 대신에 그곳에서 마음대로 움직일 수 있는 큰 고원을 발견하게 됩니다.

당신의 영적 역사에서 금주를 작년의 동일한 때와 비교하여 하나님께서 어떻게 당신을 불러 승화시키셨는지 확인해보십시오. 우리는 모두 더 높은 관점에서 바라보도록 인도되었습니다. 하나님께서 당신이 즉시 실행에 옮겨 살 수 없는 진리의 핵심을 당신에게 주시지 않도록 하십시오. 항상 해결하십시오. 그리고 그것의 빛 가운데 전진하십시오.

은총 가운데 성장은 당신이 퇴보하지 않았다는 사실로 측정되는 것이 아니고 당신의 영적 현주소에 대한 통찰력을 당신이 갖고 있다는 사실로 측정됩니다. 하나님께서 “더 높이 올라오라.”고 말씀하는 것을 당신이 들었습니다. 그것은 하나님께서 단순히 한 인간으로서의 당신에게 말씀하시는 것이 아니고 당신 성품의 통찰력을 향하여 말씀하시는 것입니다.

“내가 하는 그것을 아브라함에게 숨기겠느냐?” 주님께서 계시하실 수 있는 위치에 인격적인 품성을 통해서 우리가 도착할 때까지 주님께서 하시는 일을 하나님께서 우리에게 숨기셔야 합니다.

 

 오오 주님, 주님 안에서 기뻐하는 마음의 성질을 제게 주시옵소서.

저를 모든 안개와 혼란과 야단법석으로부터 깨끗이 씻어주시어 맑은

눈으로 주님의 길을 오늘 명료하게 볼 수 있게 하옵소서.
