REDEMPTION CREATES THE NEED IT SATISFIES

“But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.”

                                                                                                                 1 Corinthians 2:14

 

   The gospel of God creates a sense of need of the Gospel. Paul says-“If our gospel be hid, it is hid”-to those who are blackguards? No, “to them that are lost: in whom the god of this world hath blinded the minds of them which believe not.” The majority of people have their morality well within their own grasp, they have no sense of need of the Gospel. It is God Who creates the need of which no human being is conscious until God manifest Himself. Jesus said-“Ask, and it shall be given you,” but God cannot give until a man asks. It is not that He withholds, but that that is the way He has constituted things on the basis of Redemption. By means of our asking, God gets processes into work whereby He creates the thing that is not in existence until we do ask. The inner reality of Redemption is that it creates all the time. As the redemption creates the life of god in us, so it creates the things belonging to that life. Nothing can satisfy the need but that which created the need. This is the meaning of redemption-it creates and it satisfies.

   “I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto Me.” We preach our own experiences and people are interested, but no sense of need is awakened by it. If once Jesus Christ is lifted up, the Spirit of God will create a conscious need of Him. Behind the preaching of the Gospel is the creative Redemption of God at work in the souls of men. It is never personal testimony that saves men. “The words that I speak unto you, they are spirit and they are life.”

 

       Lord, how I desire to see Thee, to hear Thee, to meditate

on Thee, and manifestly grow like Thee! And Thou hast said,

“Delight thyself in the Lord; and He shall give thee the desires of

thine heart.”

충족시킬 대상이 되는 필요성을 구속이 창조하신다

 

“육에 속한 사람은 하나님의 성령의 일들을 받지 아니하나니 이는 그것들이 그에게는 어리석게 보임이요,

또 그는 그것들을 알 수도 없나니 그러한 일은 영적으로 분별되기 때문이라.”

                                                                                                                      고린도전서 2:14

 

하나님의 복음은 복음이 필요하다는 생각을 창조합니다. “만일 우리의 복음이 가리었으면.”  불량배들에게 가리어진 것입니까? 아닙니다. “망하는 자들에게 가리어진 것입니다. 그 중에 이 세상의 신이 믿지 아니하는 자들의 마음을 혼미하게 하였습니다.” (고후 4:3-4) 사람들의 대다수는 잘 이해할 수 있는 자기들의 도덕 체계를 가지고 있어 복음의 필요성을 전혀 느끼지 못합니다. 하나님께서 하나님 자신을 나타내시기까지는 어떤 누구도 의식하지 못하는 그 복음에 대한 필요성을 창조하시는 분은 하나님이십니다. “구하라. 그러면 너희에게 주실 것이요”라고 예수님께서 말씀하셨습니다. 그러나 사람이 구할 때까지는 하나님께서 주실 수 없습니다. 이것은 하나님께서 주실 것을 보류하시는 것이 아니고, 그것이 예수 그리스도의 십자가의 죽음을 통한 구속을 근거로 하여 하나님께서 만물을 구성하신 방법이기 때문입니다. 우리가 구하도록 하는 방법에 의하여 하나님께서 역사하는 과정에 착수하시는데, 우리가 구하기 전에는 존재하지 않는 바로 그것을 하나님께서 비로소 창조하시는 것은 그러한 방법에 따른 것입니다. 항상 창조하심이 구속의 내적 실체입니다. 구속이 우리 안에 하나님의 생명을 창조하심에 따라 그 생명에 속하는 것들을 구속이 창조하십니다. 그 필요성을 창조한 주체 말고는 그 어떠한 것도 그 필요성을 만족시킬 수 없습니다. ‘창조하고 충족시키신다’ 이것이 바로 구속의 의미입니다.

 “내가 만일 땅에서 들어 올려지면 모든 사람을 내게로 이끌겠노라.” 우리의 체험을 우리가 전파하고 사람들은 관심을 갖습니다. 그러나 그것으로 복음의 필요성이 일깨워지지 않습니다. 만일 예수 그리스도가 들어 올려지고 나면 하나님의 성령께서 주님을 필요로 하는 의식을 창조하실 것입니다. 복음이 전파되는 배후에 하나님의 창조적 구속이 사람들의 영혼들 안에서 역사하십니다. 개인적인 간증이 결코 사람들을 구원하는 것이 아닙니다. “내가 너희에게 이르는 말들이 곧 영이요 생명이라.”

 

   주님, 제가 얼마나 주님을 뵙고, 직접 주님의 말씀을 듣고,

주님에 대해 묵상하고, 그리고 주님처럼 분명하게 성장하기를

열망하는지요! 그러자 “주 안에서 기뻐하라 그러면 주께서 너의

마음의 소원들을 들어주시리라.” 라고 주님께서 말씀하셨습니다.
