AM I CONVINCED BY CHRIST?

“Notwithstanding in this rejoice not . . ., but rather rejoice

                              because your names are written in heaven.”

                                       Luke 10:19, 20

 

Jesus Christ says, in effect, Don’t rejoice in successful service, but rejoice because you are rightly related to Me. The snare in Christian work is to rejoice in successful service, to rejoice in the fact that God has used you. You never can measure what God will do through you if you are rightly related to Jesus Christ. Keep your relationship right with Him, then whatever circumstances you are in, and whoever you meet day by day, He is pouring rivers of living water through you, and it is of His mercy that He does not let you know it. When once you are rightly related to God by salvation and sanctification, remember that wherever you are, you are put there by God; and by the reaction of your life on the circumstances around you, you will fulfill God’s purpose, as long as you keep in the light as God is in the light.

The tendency to-day is to put the emphasis on service. Beware of the people who make usefulness their ground of appeal. If you make usefulness the test, then Jesus Christ was the greatest failure that ever lived. The lodestar of the saint is God Himself, not estimated usefulness. It is the work that God does through us that counts, not what we do for Him. All that Our Lord heeds in a man’s life is the relationship of worth to His Father. Jesus is bringing many sons to glory.

 

O Lord, I do rejoice at Thy word, “as one that findeth great spoil.”

As I speak today put Thy words in my mouth; be so present that it

shall be manifest to all that it is Thy word.

예수 그리스께서는 사실상 성공적인 섬김을 기뻐하지 말고 주님과의 올바른 관계를 맺고 있음을 기뻐하라고 이르십니다. 크리스천 사역에서 함정은 성공적인 섬김을 기뻐하고 하나님께서 당신을 사용하셨다는 사실을 기뻐하는 것입니다. 당신이 예수 그리스도와 올바른 관계를 맺고 있다면 하나님께서 당신을 통해 무얼 하실지 측정할 수 없습니다. 주님과 당신의 관계를 올바르게 유지하십시오. 그런 다음 어떤 환경에 처해 있을지라도 매일 누굴 만날지라도 주님께서 생수의 강을 당신을 통해 흘러 보낼 것입니다, 그리고 당신이 그걸 모르도록 하는 것이 주님의 자비가 되는 것입니다. 구원과 성화를 통해 일단 당신이 하나님과 올바른 관계를 맺고 있을 때는 당신이 어디에 있든지 당신은 하나님에 의해 거기에 배치되었음을 기억하십시오. 그리하여 하나님께서 빛 속에 계신 것처럼 당신이 빛 가운데 계속 있는 한 주위의 환경에 대한 삶의 반작용을 통해 당신이 하나님의 목적을 달성할 것입니다.

오늘날 섬김을 강조하는 경향이 있습니다. 유용성을 그들의 호소의 근거로 삼는 사람들을 조심하십시오. 만약 당신이 유용성을 시험해본다면 여태까지 사신 중에 예수 그리스도께서 가장 크게 실패하신 분이었습니다. 성도의 길잡이는 추정한 유용성이 아니고 하나님 자신입니다. 중요한 것은 우리가 하나님을 위해 행하는 것이 아니고 우리를 통해 하나님께서 행하시는 역사인 것입니다. 그분 아버지에 대한 가치 있는 관계가 사람의 삶에서 우리 주님께서 관심을 쏟으시는 전부입니다. 예수님께서 많은 아들들을 영광으로 인도하고 계십니다.

 

오오 주님, “큰 성과를 발견하는 자로서” 제가 주님의 말씀에

기뻐합니다. 제가 오늘 말할 때 주님의 말씀을 내 입 안에 두셔서

그것이 주님의 말씀임을 모두에게 나타나게 역사하시옵소서.
