THE DIVINE RULE LIFE

“Ye are they which have continued with Me in My temptations.”

                                        Luke 22:28

 

Our lord’s exhortation in these verses is to be generous in our behavior to  all men. In the spiritual life beware of walking according to natural affinities. Everyone has natural affinities; some people we like and others we do not like. We must never let those likes and dislikes rule in our Christian life. “if we walk in the light as God is in the light,” God will give us communion with people for whom we have no natural affinity.

The example Our Lord gives us is not that of a good man, or even of a good Christian, but of God Himself. “Be ye therefore perfect even as your father in heaven is perfect,” show to the other man what God has shown to you; and God will give us ample opportunities in actual life to prove whether we are perfect as our father in heaven is perfect. To be a disciple means that we deliberately identify ourselves with God’s interests in other people. “That ye love one another; as I have loved you…”

The ｅxpression of Christian character is not good doing, but God-likeness. If the Spirit of God has transformed you within, you will exhibit divine characteristics in your life, not good human characteristics. God’s life in us expresses itself as God’s life, not as human life trying to be godly. The secret of a Christian is that the supernatural is made natural in him by the grace of God, and the experience of this works out in the practical details of life, not in times of communion with God. When we come in contact with things that create a buzz, we find to our amazement that we have power to keep wonderfully poised in the centre of it all.

 

O Lord, as this Thy day unfolds be our peculiar treasure in

everything. Permeate us with Thy Spirit that all may be transfigured

with sweet complacent spiritual power.

생명에 대한 하나님의 지배

“그러므로 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 온전하심과 같이

                                너희도 온전하라.”

                                                                                                                       마태복음 5:48

 

이 구절들에 들어있는 우리 주님의 권고는 우리 행동에서 모든 사람에게 아낌없이 적용되어야 합니다. 영적 삶에서 타고난 친근감에 따라 행동하지 않도록 조심하세요. 누구에게나 나면서부터 호감이 가는 것이 있습니다. 어떤 사람은 우리가 좋아하고 어떤 사람은 우리가 좋아하지 않습니다. 우리 크리스천 삶에서 그와 같이 좋아하고 싫어하는 것이 지배하도록 해서는 안 됩니다. “하나님께서 빛 가운데 계신 것처럼 만일 우리가 빛 가운데 행하면,” 선천적인 친근감의 대상이 아닌 사람들과도 우리가 영적 교통을 할 수 있는 능력을 하나님께서 주실 것입니다.

우리 주님께서 우리에게 보여주시는 본보기는 선량한 사람이나 또는 심지어 훌륭한 크리스천의 것이 아니고 하나님 자신의 것입니다. “그러므로 하늘에 계신 너희 아버지의 온전하심과 같이 너희도 온전하라,”는 말씀과 같이 하나님께서 여러분에게 보여주신 것을 다른 사람에게 보여주세요. 그러면 하늘에 계신 우리 아버지가 온전하신 것처럼 우리가 온전한지 어떤지 실생활에서 입증할 수 있는 충분한 기회들을 하나님께서 우리에게 제공하실 것입니다. 제자가 된다는 것은 다른 사람들에 대한 하나님의 관심에 우리 자신이 신중하게 공감한다는 것을 의미합니다. “내가 너희를 사랑한 것처럼 너희도 서로 사랑하라…”

크리스천의 특징을 표현하는 것은 선을 행하는 것이 아니고 하나님을 닮는 것입니다. 만일 성령께서 여러분을 내적으로 변화시켰다면 여러분의 삶 가운데 선량한 인간의 속성이 아니고 하나님의 속성을 여러분이 나타낼 것입니다. 우리 안에 있는 하나님의 생명은 하나님의 생명 그 자체로서 나타나는 것이지 신의 뜻에 순종하고자 노력하는 인간의 생명으로서 나타나는 것이 아닙니다. 초자연적인 것이 하나님의 은총을 통해서 그의 안에서 생성되는 점이 크리스천의 비밀입니다. 이것의 체험은 구체적인 실생활에서 그 효험이 입증되는 것이며 하나님과 영적 교제의 시간에 효험이 나타나는 것이 아닙니다. 말썽을 일으키는 상황을 우리가 만날 때 우리가 그 말썽의 중심에서 경이롭게도 만반의 태세를 갖추는 능력이 있음을 발견하고 놀랄 것입니다.

 

오오 주님, 이와 같이 주님의 날이 열림에 따라 모든 것 가운데 우리의

특별한 보물이 되시옵소서. 성령으로 우리를 충만하게 하시어 모든 것이

달콤하고 만족스런 영적 능력으로 변화되게 역사하시옵소서.
