DESERTER TO DISCIPLE?

“From that time many of his disciples went back, and

                  walked no more with him.”

 John 6:66

 

   When God gives vision by His Spirit through His word of what He wants, and your mind and soul thrill to it, if you do not walk in the light of that vision, you will sink into servitude to a point of view which Our Lord never had. Disobedience in mind to the heavenly vision will make you a slave to points of view that are alien to Jesus Christ. Do not look at someone else and say-Well, if he can have those views ad prosper, why Cannot I? You have to walk in the light of the vision that has been given to you and not compare yourself with others or judge them, that is between them and God. When you find that a point of view in which you have been delighting clashes with the heavenly vision and you debate, certain things will begin to develop in you-a sense of property and a sense of personal right, things of which Jesus Christ made nothing. He was always against these things as being the root of everything alien to Himself. “A man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things that he possesseth.”

   We are apt to lie back and bask in the memory of the wonderful experience we have had. If there is onne standard in the New Testament revealed by the light of God and you do not come up to it, and do not feel inclined to come up to it, that is the beginning of backsliding, because it means your conscience does not answer to the truth. That moment marks you for going on as a more true disciple of Jesus Christ or for going back as a deserter.

 

          Lord, fill every space around us with Thyself this

day. Control everything right marvellously by Thy

guiding hand; lift us up into Thy wonderful purposes,

and keep us from impulsive precipitancy.

도망자에서 제자로 되는?

“그 때부터 그의 제자 중에서 많은 사람이 떠나가고

                  다시 그와 함께 다니지 아니하더라.”

                                                                                        요한복음 6:66

 

하나님께서 원하시는 것에 대한 말씀을 통해 성령으로 비전을 주시면 당신의 마음과 영혼은 그것에 감동합니다. 그러나 당신이 만일 그 비전의 빛 가운데서 행하지 않으면 당신은 우리 주님이 갖지 않았던 다른 관점에 대한 노예 상태로 빠져들 것입니다. 하늘의 비전에 대한 마음의 불순종은 당신을 예수 그리스도의 뜻에 배치되는 관점들의 노예로 만들 것입니다. 다른 어떤 사람들을 바라보며 ‘그래, 그 사람이 그런 관점을 가지고 잘 될 수 있다면, 왜 나라고 할 수 없겠는가?’ 라고 말하지 마십시오. 당신은 당신에게 주어진 비전의 빛 가운데서 행해야 하며 다른 사람들과 당신 자신을 비교하거나 그들을 판단해서는 안됩니다. 그것은 하나님과 그들 사이의 문제입니다. 당신이 기뻐해오던 어떤 관점이 하늘의 비전과 충돌함을 깨닫고 당신이 논쟁할 때, 재산에 대한 의식과 개인적 권리에 대한 의식, 예수 그리스도께서 하찮게 보셨던 것들에 대한 의식과 같은 특정한 실체가 당신 안에서 나타나기 시작할 것입니다. 주님의 뜻에 맞지 않는 모든 것들의 근원이 되는 것으로서 주님께서 이러한 것들에 대해 항상 반대하셨습니다. “사람의 생명이 그 소유의 넉넉한데 있지 아니하니라.”

우리는 지금까지 가졌던 멋진 경험의 기억 속에 안주하는 경향이 있습니다. 만일 신약성경에 하나님의 빛에 의하여 계시된 한 가지 기준이 있는데 당신이 그 기준에 이르지 못하고 그 기준을 향하여 나아가고자 하는 마음도 없다면 그것은 타락의 시작입니다. 그 것은 당신의 양심이 진리에 응답하지 않는다는 것을 의미하기 때문입니다. 진리가 드러난 후에는 당신은 전과 같은 인물이 될 수 없습니다. 진리가 드러난 순간이 예수 그리스도의 더 진실한 제자로 발전하든가 도망자로 퇴보하든가 둘 중의 하나로 당신을 운명 짓는 것입니다. 

 

       주님, 오늘 우리 주위의 모든 공간을 주님의 임재로 충만하게

하시옵소서. 주님의 이끄시는 손길을 통해 모든 것을 놀라울

만큼 바르게 통제하여 주시옵소서. 그리하여 주님의 경탄할만한

목적들 안으로 우리를 고양시켜주시고 충동적인 경거망동을 멀리하도록

우리를 보호하여 주시옵소서.
