MORAL DOMINION

 

“Death hath no more dominion over Him . . . in that He

                                            liveth, He liveth unto God. Likewise reckon ye also your-

                                            selves to be dead indeed unto sin, but alive unto God.“

                                                                               Romans6:9-11.

 

  Co-Eternal Life. Eternal life was the life which Jesus Christ exhibited on the human plane, and it is the same life, not a copy of it, which is manifested in our mortal flesh when we are born of God. Eternal life is not a gift from God, eternal life is the gift of God. The energy and the power which were manifested in Jesus will be manifested in us by the sheer sovereign grace of God when once we have made the moral decision about sin.

  “Ye shall receive the power of the Holy Ghost”—not power as a gift from the Holy Ghost; the power is the Holy Ghost, not something which He imparts. The life that was in Jesus is made ours by means of his Cross when once we make the decision to be identified with Him. If it is difficult to get right with God, it is because we will not decide definitely about sin. Immediately we do decide, the full life of God comes in. Jesus came to give us endless supplies of life: “that ye might be filled with all the fullness of God.” Eternal Life has nothing to do with Time, it is the life which Jesus lived when He was down here. The only source of Life is the Lord Jesus Christ.

  The weakest saint can experience the power of the Deity of the Son of God if once he is willing to "let go." Any strand of our own energy will blur the life of Jesus. We have to keep letting go, and slowly and surely the great full life of God will invade us in every part, and men will take knowledge of us that we have been with Jesus.

 

 

  Lord, I feel myself craving for the external sense of

  Thy presence, the hundredfold more of Thy joyous

  benediction. Lord, I leave this desire with Thee, grant

  it as Thou seest best.

도덕적 주권

 

“이는 그리스도께서 죽은 자 가운데서 살아나셨으매 다시 죽지 아니하시고 사망이 다시 그를 주장하지 못할 줄을 앎이로라 그가 죽으심은 죄에 대하여 단번에 죽으심이요 그가 살아 계심은 하나님께 대하여 살아 계심이니 이와 같이 너희도 너희 자신을 죄에 대하여는 죽은 자요 그리스도 예수 안에서 하나님께 대하여는 살아 있는 자로 여길지어다.”

  영원히 공존하는 생명. 영생은 예수 그리스도께서 인간의 모습으로 보여주셨던 생명과 동일한 것이지, 우리가 하나님에 의해 태어날 때 우리의 죽을 수밖에 없는 육신 안에서 분명하게 드러나는 생명의 복사판은 아니다. 영생은 하나님으로 인하여 받는 선물이 아니고 하나님께서 직접 주시는 선물이다. 예수님 안에서 분명하게 드러난 힘과 능력은 우리가 죄에 대하여 도덕적 결단을 일단 하기만하면 하나님의 전적인 주권적 은총을 통해서 우리 안에 분명하게 나타날 것이다.

  “너희가 성령의 능력을 받으리라”라는 말씀은 성령으로 인하여 받는 선물로서의 능력이 아니다. 이 능력은 성령께서 주시는 어떤 무언가가 아니고 성령님 자신이다. 우리가 예수님과 함께 하나로 연합하기로 결단했을 때 예수님 안에 있었던 생명이 예수님의 십자가 복음의 권능을 통해 우리의 것으로 되는 것이다. 하나님과 올바른 관계를 유지하는 것이 만일 어렵다면 그 원인은 우리가 죄에 대하여 단호한 결단을 내리려고 하지 않기 때문이다. 우리가 결단을 내리자마자 하나님의 충만한 생명이 들어온다. 생명을 위해 필요한 것들을 중단 없이 계속 공급하기 위해서 예수님께서 오셨다. “하나님의 모든 충만하신 것으로 너희가 충만하게 되기를” 구하노라(엡 3:19). 영생은 시간과 아무런 관계가 없다. 영생은 예수님께서 여기 아래 지상에서 사셨던 생명인 것이다. 생명의 유일한 원천은 주 예수 그리스도이다.

  가장 연약한 기독교인도 만일 그가 기꺼이 자기 의를 “포기할” 의향이 있다면 하나님의 아들의 신적 능력을 체험할 수 있다. 우리 자신의 힘을 아무리 결합하더라도 예수님의 생명을 흐리게 할 것이다. 우리는 계속해서 자기를 부인해야 한다. 그리하면 서서히 그리고 확실하게 하나님의 위대하고 충만한 생명이 모든 면에서 우리를 점령할 것이며 우리가 예수님과 함께 함을 사람들이 알게 될 것이다.

 

 

     주님, 주님의 임재에 대한 외적인 느낌과 주님께서 기쁨에 넘쳐

     백배로 더 베푸시는 은총에 대해 제가 갈망합니다. 주님, 이 욕망을

     주님께 맡기오니 주님께서 최선이라고 판단하시는 그걸 주시옵소서.
