HAVE A MESSAGE AND BE onE

“Preach the word.”

2 Timothy 4:2

 

We are not saved to be “channels only,” but to be sons and daughters of God. We are not turned into spiritual mediums, but into spiritual messengers; the message must be part of ourselves. The Son of God was His own message, His words were spirit and life; and as His disciples our lives must be the sacrament of our message. The natural heart will do any amount of serving, but it takes the heart broken by conviction of sin, and baptized by the Holy Ghost, and crumpled into the purpose of God, before the life becomes the sacrament of its message.

There is a difference between giving a testimony and preaching. A preacher is one who has realized the call of God and is determined to use his every power to proclaim God’s truth. God takes us out of our own ideas for our lives and we are “batter’d to shape and use,” as the disciples were after Pentecost. Pentecost did not teach the disciples anything; it made them the incarnation of what they preached—“Ye shall be witnesses unto Me.”

Let God have perfect liberty when you speak. Before God’s message can liberate other souls, the liberation must be real in you. Gather your material, and set it alight when you speak.

 

   Lord God Omniscient, give me wisdom this day to worship

and work aright and be well-pleasing to Thee. Lord, interpret

Thyself to me more and more in Thy fullness and beauty.

메시지를 받고 하나가 되십시오

“말씀을 전파하라.”

디모데후서 4:2

 

우리는 “통로만” 되기 위해서 구원 받는 것이 아니고 하나님의 자녀가 되기 위해서 구원 받는 것입니다. 우리는 영적 매개체로 전향되는 것이 아니고 영적 메시지 전달자로 전향되는 것입니다. 이 메시지는 우리 인격의 일부가 되어야 합니다. 하나님의 아들은 그 자신의 메시지였으며 그의 말씀들은 영과 생명이었습니다. 그러므로 그의 제자들로서 우리의 삶은 우리의 메시지를 증거하는 성체가 되어야 합니다. 본성적인 가슴으로 어느 정도는 섬길 것입니다. 그러나 죄의 자각을 통해 가슴이 찢어지고 성령의 세례를 받고 하나님의 목적 달성을 위해 산산이 부서져 겸손해진 다음에야 이 생명이 그 메시지를 직접 실천해 보임으로써 증거가 되는 성체가 되는 것입니다.

증거를 제시하는 것과 말씀을 전파하는 것은 서로 차이가 있습니다. 설교자는 하나님의 소명을 깨닫고 하나님의 진리를 선포하기 위하여 그의 모든 능력을 사용하기로 결심한 사람입니다. 오순절 후에 제자들이 그랬던 것처럼 삶을 위한 우리 자신의 아이디어로부터 우리를 꺼내셔서 하나님에 의하여 우리가 그리스도의 형상으로 연단됨으로써 사용되는 것입니다. 오순절은 제자들에게 아무 것도 가르치지 않았습니다. “너희가 내 증인이 되리라”는 말씀에 따라 성령의 권능을 받음으로써 제자들 자신이 설파한 내용을 구체적으로 실현한 실체가 되도록 성령께서 역사하셨던 것입니다.

당신이 말할 때 하나님께서 완전히 자유롭게 역사하시도록 내맡기십시오. 하나님의 메시지가 다른 영혼들을 자유롭게 하도록 역사하시기 전에 당신 안에서 먼저 주님의 권능행사가 실질적으로 제약을 받지 않아야 합니다. 당신의 자원을 한 군데로 모으고 난 후 당신이 말할 때 불을 붙이십시오.

 

    모든 것을 아시는 주 하나님, 오늘 제게 지혜를 주셔서 주님을 경배하고

올바로 사역하여 주님에게 진정으로 기쁨이 되게 하옵소서. 주님, 주님의

충만함과 아름다움에 관해서 제가 더욱더 주님을 알 수 있도록 인도하옵소서.
