ARE YOU EXHAUSTED SPIRITUALLY?

“The everlasting God . . . fainteth not, neither is weary.”

Isaiah 40:28

Exhaustion means that the vital forces are worn right out. Spiritual exhaustion never comes through sin but only through service, and whether or not you are exhausted will depend upon where you get your supplies. Jesus said to Peter—“Feed My sheep,” but He gave him nothing to feed them with. The process of being made broken bread and poured-out wine means that you have to be the nourishment for other souls until they learn to feed on God. They must drain you to the dregs. Be careful that you get your supply, or before long you will be utterly exhausted. Before other souls learn to draw on the life of the Lord Jesus direct, they have to draw on it through you; you have to be literally ‘sucked’, until they learn to take their nourishment from God. We owe it to God to be our best for His lambs and His sheep as well as for Himself.

Has the way in which you have been serving God betrayed you into exhaustion? If so, then rally your affections. Where did you start the service from? From your own sympathy or from the basis of the Redemption of Jesus Christ? Continually go back to the foundation of your affections and recollect where the source of power is. You have no right to say—‘Oh Lord, I am so exhausted.’ He saved and sanctified you in order to exhaust you. Be exhausted for God, but remember that your supply comes from Him. “All my fresh springs shall be in Thee.”

 

   O Lord, Thou art what I am longing for! “My soul

thirsteth for God, for the living God: when shall

I come and appear before God?” Oh, for Thy touch, Thy

life, Thy beauty; let it come now, Lord, even as I pray.

당신은 영적으로 탈진 상태에 빠져있습니까?

“영원하신 하나님은…피곤하지 않으시며 곤비하지 않으시며,”

이사야 40:28

 

탈진 상태에 있다는 것은 생명력이 고갈된 상태를 의미합니다. 영적인 탈진 상태는 결코 죄를 통해서 오는 것이 아니고 봉사를 통해서만 옵니다. 당신이 기진맥진한 상태인지 아닌지는 당신이 필요로 하는 것들을 어디서 공급받는지에 달려 있습니다. “내 양을 먹이라”고 예수님께서 베드로에게 말씀하셨습니다. 그러나 예수님께서는 양들을 먹일 아무 것도 베드로에게 주지 않으셨습니다. 조각난 빵과 부어진 포도주로 만들어지는 과정은 다른 사람들이 하나님으로부터 일용할 양식을 공급 받는 방법을 배울 때까지는 당신이 그들에게 영양이 되는 음식을 공급하지 않으면 안 된다는 것을 의미합니다. 그들은 당신이 가진 모든 것의 밑바닥까지 비울 것임에 틀림 없습니다. 당신이 공급할 것을 확보하도록 신경을 쓰십시오. 그렇지 않으면 오래지 않아 당신은 아주 탈진 상태에 빠지게 될 것입니다. 다른 영혼들이 생명에 필요한 것을 주 예수님으로부터 직접 끌어내는 방법을 배우기 전까지는 그들이 당신을 통해서 그것을 공급받을 수밖에 없습니다. 그들이 하나님으로부터 영양 공급 받는 법을 배울 때까지는 당신은 완전히 “빨아 먹히지” 않으면 안 됩니다. 우리는 하나님 자신을 위해서는 물론 하나님의 양들을 위하여 우리의 최선을 다할 의무가 있습니다.

당신이 하나님을 섬겨왔던 방법이 당신의 기대를 저버리고 탈진 상태에 빠뜨렸습니까? 만일 그렇다면 그 다음에는 당신의 애정을 결집시키십시오. 당신은 어디서부터 봉사를 시작했습니까? 당신 자신의 동정심으로부터 또는 예수 그리스도의 구속의 근거로부터? 끊임 없이 당신 애정의 근거로 돌아가서 능력의 원천이 어디인지를 상기하십시오. “오오 주님, 제가 몹시 기진맥진한 상태에 있습니다.”라고 말할 권리가 당신에게는 없다. 당신을 탈진 상태로 만들기 위해서 주님께서 당신을 구원하여 거룩하게 하셨습니다. 하나님을 위해서 탈진 상태가 되십시오. 그러나 당신이 필요로 하는 것은 하나님께서 공급해주신다는 사실을 기억하십시오. “나의 신선한 샘물의 근원은 모두 반드시 주님 안에 있을 것입니다.”

 

    오오 주님, 제가 주님을 갈망합니다!  “나의 영혼이 살아계신

하나님을 목마르게 찾고 있습니다. 제가 언제 나아가 하나님 앞에

서야 할까요?” 오오 주님의 만짐, 주님의 생명, 주님의 아름다움.

오오 주님, 제가 기도하는 지금 오게 하시옵소서.
