GETTING THERE

“Come ye after Me.”

                                                                                                                                Mark 1:17

 

Where the selective affinity dies and the sanctified abandon lives. one of the greatest hindrances in coming to Jesus is the excuse of temperament. We make our temperament and our natural affinities barriers to coming to Jesus. The first thing we realize when we come to Jesus is that He pays no attention whatever to our natural affinities. We have the notion that we can consecrate our gifts to God. You cannot consecrate what is not yours; there is only one thing you can consecrate to God, and that is your right to yourself (Romans 12:1). If you will give God your right to yourself, He will make a holy experiment out of you. God’s experiments always succeed. The one mark of a saint is the moral originality which springs from abandonment to Jesus Christ. In the life of a saint there is this amazing wellspring of original life all the time; the Spirit of God is a well of water springing up, perennially fresh. The saint realizes that it is God Who engineers circumstances, consequently there is no whine, but a reckless abandon to Jesus. Never make a principle out of your experience; let God be as original with other people as He is with you.

If you abandon to Jesus, and come when He says “Come,” He will continue to say “Come” through you; you will go out into life reproducing the echo of Christ’s “Come.” That is the result in every soul who has abandoned and come to Jesus.

Have I come to Jesus? Will I come now?

 

O Lord, what great and glorious outlines have passed

and are passing before the vision of our personal

spirits about Thy plans. Lord, we do not see the way,

but we know Thee and trust. Keep our minds and

hearts strong and quiet in Thee.

                              마가복음 1:17

 

선택적 친근감이 사라지고 성화된 포기가 살고 있는 곳. 예수님께로 나아가는데 가장 큰 장애물 중 하나는 기질을 핑계 삼는 것이다. 우리는 우리의 기질과 타고난 친근감이 예수님께로 나아가는 장애물이 되게 한다. 예수님께로 나아갈 때 첫 번째로 우리가 깨닫는 것은 예수님께서는 우리의 타고난 친근감에 조금도 주의를 기울이지 않으신다는 점이다. 우리는 우리의 재능을 하나님께 바칠 수 있다고 생각한다. 당신의 소유가 아닌 것을 당신이 바칠 수는 없다. 하나님께 바칠 수 있는 것은 단 한 가지 밖에 없다. 그것은 자신에 대한 당신의 권리다(롬 12:1). 만일 당신이 자신에 대한 권리를 장차 하나님께 드린다면 주님께서는 당신으로부터 거룩한 실험을 하실 것이다. 하나님의 실험들은 항상 성공한다. 성도의 한 가지 표징은 예수 그리스도에게 전적으로 내맡김으로부터 샘솟는 도덕적 독창성이다. 성도의 삶 속에는 참신한 삶이라는 놀랄만한 근원이 항상 존재한다. 하나님의 성령은 연중 계속해서 신선하게 솟아오르는 생수의 샘이다. 환경을 지배하시는 분이 하나님이심을 성도가 깨닫게 되면 결과적으로 불평이 없고 예수님께 담대하게 내맡기게 된다. 당신의 체험으로부터 하나의 원칙을 만들지 말라. 당신에 대한 경우와 마찬가지로 다른 사람들에 대해서도 하나님께서 참신함이 되게 하라.

만일 당신이 예수님께 내맡기고 주님께서 “오라”고 말씀하실 때 나아간다면 주님께서는 당신을 통해서 “오라”는 말씀을 계속 하실 것입니다. 그리스도의 “오라”는 메아리를 반복하면서 당신은 삶 속으로 나아갈 것입니다. 그것이 예수님께 전적으로 의지하고 나아간 모든 영혼 가운데 빚어지는 결과다.

내가 예수님께로 이미 나아갔는가? 이제 내가 예수님께로 나아갈 것인가?

 

오 주님, 주님의 계획에 관한 우리의 개인적인 영혼들의 비전

앞에 얼마나 위대하고 영광스러운 윤곽이 통과했으며 통과

중에 있는지요. 주님, 우리 눈에는 이 길이 보이지 않습니다.

그러나 우리가 주님을 알고 있고 신뢰합니다. 우리의 마음이

주님 안에서 강하고 편안하게 거하도록 붙들어주시옵소서.
